“Without a doubt the greatest Star Trek

Posted : 10 months, 2 weeks ago on 4 July 2007 11:46 (A review of Star Trek: First Contact)

“Without a doubt the greatest Star Trek movie ever made.”
If paramount had followed the example set by this movie they would still be making Star Trek movies today. The special effects are amazing and the story keeps you on the edge of your seat. I can't recommend it enough.

Aggravated by fast sub-titles & spanish

Posted : 11 months, 2 weeks ago on 4 June 2007 08:28 (A review of Pan's Labyrinth)

My first thought after renting and watching this movie wasn’t very honest. I was upset that it didn’t have an English language version and that the English sub-titles often ran way too fast prompting several rewinds on my player. But in retrospect this was a good movie, a really good movie. And sub-titles do make you pay more attention to the story, but when concentrating on the sub-titles I think you miss some of the visuals and visual effects. My hope is that a Special English dubbed version might be released sometime in the future. I give it high marks for everything but the Spanish only language and way-to-fast sub-titles. Yes, I was aggravated by it, but it was still a good movie.

so good that they could never do it just

Posted : 11 months, 4 weeks ago on 24 May 2007 11:23 (A review of Highlander)

“Here’s a movie that was so good that they tried for years to make a sequel to it that would work and none ever did. The TV series came as close as they could get. It wasn’t bad, but they didn’t really have a direction for the second movie and it had promise, then the next movie made the mistake of saying pretend the second movie didn’t happen, then the fourth. Well the fourth movie says only pretend parts of all of these movies never happened and parts of them did. Still yet, the original, or even its extended edition Directors Cut was/is an incredible movie. My Mom liked the romance of it as and I of course love the sword fights, the cleaving of heads and defeat of the really cool bad guy known as the Kurgan.”

Talk about a mind blowing movie

Posted : 11 months, 4 weeks ago on 24 May 2007 11:17 (A review of The Matrix)

The Matrix-1999+ Matrix Reloaded & Matrix Revolutions
“Talk about a mind blowing movie. The Matrix was off the charts. The special effects were revolutionary the first of their kind. The story was thought provoking and the action non-stop. The sequels were a little less inspiring story wise, but the special effects made it obvious that anything was now possible. Seeing Keanu Reeves fly was amazing. I knew some spectacular Superhero movies had to be on the horizon.”

never able to read the Lord of the Rings

Posted : 11 months, 4 weeks ago on 24 May 2007 11:15 (A review of The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King)

Lord of the Rings 3: the Return of the King-2003 +Fellowship of the Ring & the Two Towers
“I remember reading “the Hobbit” when I was a kid and loving it, but try as I might I was never able to read the Lord of the Rings trilogy. I saw the cartoons, but just couldn’t get through the books. I’m so very glad that Peter Jackson gave us this translation of it. He made a trilogy that raises the bar because so far this is the greatest Fantasy Epic ever made. Easily better than any Star Wars movie. The extended DVD’s are well worth watching, but the theatrical versions just might have a better flow to them. I highly recommend either or both versions.”

a seamless continuation from the first

Posted : 11 months, 4 weeks ago on 24 May 2007 11:09 (A review of Underworld: Evolution)

Underworld 2 Evolutions-2006/Underworld 2003-
“When Underworld came out in 2003, I thought it was pretty good but thought it needed something more, more history. Well three years later I found myself blown away by Underworld: Evolutions. It was almost a seamless continuation from the first movie. The movie was so good that it made the first movie even better. My only criticism would be that the special effects of the weapons used in the first movie were absent in the second. I guessed it was a budget trade off. By making the incredible fights scenes and the special effects on the first vampire they lost the money to continue use on the weapons effects? Still the movie excites me just thinking about it even today.”
